my heart weeps
for the cruelty of man
that would shoot a bear
yet leave the cubs
growling, trembling,
defending but a corpse.
i mourn the loss of humanity
in the man that is broken.
i pray for the one
lost in vicious ego
displaying his brokenness
in breaking another,
with nothing, not a fragment,
of himself remaining.
